Director's Message
Welcome to the A. Alfred Taubman Center for American Politics and Policy. I am honored to serve as the Director.
The Taubman Center engages with American politics and policy through academic research, conferences, workshops, internships and public events. We bring together faculty, postdoctoral fellows and students from across the Brown campus to understand American politics—and to explore the dynamics of policymaking at the national, state and local levels. We also host a series of distinguished, endowed lectures that provides an exciting opportunity for students, faculty and community members to engage with current and former public officials, journalists, and thought leaders.
In the coming year, the Taubman Center will focus on three areas:
· Democratic erosion and reliance
· Inequality, economic opportunity and social policy
· Innovative and effective government
I look forward to working with you this year and to seeing you at our events.
